Women are considered the pillars of the African American community. Many successful people credit their mother with providing the necessary foundation and support. But more than support systems, black women are entrepreneurs, like Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce’. They are Civil Rights leaders like Dorothy Height. They are acclaimed actresses, singers and performers. They are also our mothers, sisters and aunts. They are our teachers, our neighbors…our heroes.
This site highlights the contributions of black women and offers you the opportunity to nominate someone for recognition. Keep in mind, it takes more than looks to be “fine;” it includes intelligence, talent, strength and dignity. Visit our Nominate page to submit someone for consideration. Go to our Vote page to vote on the nominees.
